On March 3, the Massachusetts State House was filled with artists, creatives, cultural organizations, and advocates from across the Commonwealth who gathered to celebrate Massachusetts’ creative sector.
I was proud to see constituents Minqi Wang, Rongbing Shen, Liat Shapiro, and Ella Nathanael Alkiewicz sharing their gifts with us during the exhibition. The following organizations from the Hampshire, Franklin, Worcester district were among those represented in the events and meetings my team held in our office:
- MassHumanities
- Florentine Films/Hott Productions
- Double Edge Theater
- Northampton Jazz Fest
- Black and Brown Wall Street
- Bombyx Center for Arts & Equity
- Winchendon Cultural Council
- ArtsHub of Western Massachusetts
- Common Wealth Murals
- The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art
- Ancestral Bridges
- LaunchSpace – Orange
The creative sector has a powerful role in strengthening our communities and building our local and regional economies. As Vice Chair of Senate Ways and Means, I am looking forward to advocating for funding for arts and humanities priorities in the upcoming fiscal year 2027 budget debate.
