Author Margaret Wheatley wrote, “Whatever the problem, community is the answer.”
In that important observation, she captures my own love, appreciation, and respect for local service. Without a doubt, there is nothing harder as all politics is local where the impact of budget and policy decisions is felt by our neighbors.
Today in Amherst, Greenfield, and Northampton, municipal officials are taking the oath of office. I thank them for their service and promise to do everything I can to support their leadership on behalf of our shared constituents.
2024 is a pivotal year at every level of government. I look forward to working with these tireless elected officials on the pressing issues of our time and toward a Commonwealth where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
