On August 31, 2023, elected officials and community college presidents joined together at Greenfield Community College to celebrate MassReconnect, the administration’s program to provide free community college for Massachusetts residents aged 25 and older, as well as free community college for nursing students of any age.

I was honored to join Greenfield Community College president Michelle Schutt; Berkshire Community College president Ellen Kennedy; Holyoke Community College president George Timmons; Springfield Technical Community College president John Cook; MassReconnect students from Franklin and Hampden Counties; and colleagues from the western Massachusetts State Legislative Delegation.

Beginning with the class entering in the fall of 2023, anyone, age 25 or older, can attend community college in the Commonwealth free of charge. And any student entering a nursing program can also go for free.
