On March 3, the Massachusetts State House was filled with artists, creatives, cultural organizations, and advocates from across the Commonwealth who gathered to celebrate Massachusettsโ creative sector.ย
I was proud to see constituents Minqi Wang, Rongbing Shen, Liat Shapiro, and Ella Nathanael Alkiewicz sharing their gifts with us during the exhibition. The following organizations from the Hampshire, Franklin, Worcester district were among those represented in the events and meetings my team held in our office:ย
- MassHumanitiesย
- Florentine Films/Hott Productionsย
- Double Edge Theater
- Northampton Jazz Festย
- Black and Brown Wall Streetย
- Bombyx Center for Arts & Equity
- Winchendon Cultural Councilย
- ArtsHub of Western Massachusettsย
- Common Wealth Muralsย

The creative sector has a powerful role in strengthening our communities and building our local and regional economies. As Vice Chair of Senate Ways and Means, I am looking forward to advocating for funding for arts and humanities priorities in the upcoming fiscal year 2027 budget debate.ย
