On August 19, I joined my colleagues in the Franklin County state legislative delegation alongside the Franklin Regional Council of Governments and Rural Development Inc. to host Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll, Housing and Livable Communities Secretary Ed Augustus, their teams, and regional and statewide housing leaders for a powerful summit focused on the opportunities and challenges in developing rural housing.
Our conversations focused specifically on the barriers facing rural communities in accessing state housing resources — and what it’s going to take to break down those barriers.
As part of the summit, we went on a housing tour and were treated to a classic LG selfie on the bus.
