Jared Freedman joins Senator Comerford’s office after having worked in the State House for former Representative Stephen Kulik (1st Franklin District). In Representative Kulik’s office, Jared worked on constituent concerns, district issues, legislation, and the state budget. Some of the initiatives Jared worked on include the Massachusetts Broadband Institute’s Last Mile Initiative, the Healthy Incentives Program, the Dairy Farm Tax Credit, the Rural Policy Advisory Commission, and the Berkshire Gas moratorium.
Jared grew up in Leverett and attended Amherst Regional High School, where he helped the baseball team win its first state championship in school history. Jared then studied political science at the University of Rochester, where he was the captain of the varsity rowing team.
Jared’s mother Laurie Millman is the Executive Director of the Center for New Americans in Northampton, and his father Steve Freedman was a small business owner in Amherst for 20 years prior to his retirement. In his spare time, Jared enjoys kayaking on Leverett Pond, running, reading the news, and watching the Boston Celtics.
