Rachel Klein grew up in Oakland, California and moved to Massachusetts to attend Tufts University where she majored in Environmental Studies and Religion. As a Tisch Scholar at Tufts, Rachel had the opportunity to intern with organizations such as Groundwork Somerville and MassINC, prompting her passion for responsive government and equitable community development. Before joining Team Comerford, Rachel worked on State Senator Becca Rausch’s reelection campaign and then as a project coordinator at Housing Navigator MA to reform and simplify the affordable housing search process for renters.
Rachel joined Senator Comerford’s office in 2022, initially leading the office’s work on constituent services and food and agriculture policy. She now leads Senator Comerford’s legislative portfolio — filing bills, working with advocates and legislative colleagues, and pushing forward our collective policy priorities — and the Senator’s work on legislative committees, caucuses, and commissions, always pushing with an eye toward justice and equity.
Rachel lives in Somerville, and in her free time you can find her cooking dinner with her partner, playing ultimate frisbee, or re-watching the newest season of Survivor.
