A Tribute(ary) to the Connecticut River
October 19, 2020 @ 10:30 am - 5:00 pm
On October 19 state elected officials, state officials, and environmental, cultural, and Indigenous leaders will join a day-long paddle down the majestic Connecticut River.
The goal of the event, complete with the hashtag #WeLoveOurRiver, is to raise public awareness about the Connecticut River’s importance to the environment, farms, the economy, and culture, as well as its significance to indigenous communities.
The event will kick off in Northfield at 10:30 a.m. and will continue until about 5 p.m. as paddlers arrive in Northampton. At stops in Northfield, Gill, Sunderland, Hatfield, and Northampton, participants will offer brief remarks about the River’s importance. These remarks will be livestreamed via Senator Jo Comerford’s Facebook page. Please be sure to follow along using #WeLoveOurRiver.
The event organization is a partnership between Senator Jo Comerford and All Out Adventures (AOA).
