July 20, 2021 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
The PFAS Interagency Task Force will hold its fourth meeting to review and investigate water and ground contamination of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances across the commonwealth. The purpose of this hearing is to listen to testimony from local communities, municipal officials, and frontline organizations that are already addressing the issue of PFAS chemicals in their respective towns and membership communities. This hearing will highlight the challenges they face in dealing with this issue in isolation and identify the need for a coordinated statewide effort with regards to education, regulation, and remediation.
We will hear from the following testifiers: Mark Ellis, Barnstable Town Administrator; Denise Dembkoski, Stow Town Administrator; Mark Wetzel, Superintendent of Public Works for the Town of Ayer; Matthew Mostoller, Environmental Manager for the Acton Water District; Thomas Holder, Director of the Department of Public Works for the Town of Wayland; Connor Read, Easton Town Administrator; Joseph Favaloro, Executive Director for the MWRA Advisory Board; and Jennifer Pederson, Executive Director for the MWWA.
Written comments will be accepted by email.
