Sam HopperDirector of Constituent Engagement

    Sam Hopper is a community activist and former preschool teacher. She played a central role in Jo’s 2018 write-in campaign, leading the campaign’s administrative, communication, and tech-related work. Sam serves as the Secretary for the Northampton Democratic City Committee and is a parent member of Northampton’s Bridge Street School Council. She was the Data & Organizational Coordinator for the 2018 Western Mass Take Back the House effort, led by the Northampton Democratic City Committee, and collaborated with Northampton city officials on a school bus safety campaign.

    Sam studied Sociology at Sonoma State University in California where she also played on the women’s water polo team. The daughter of a Navy pilot and Filipina immigrant, Sam grew up in San Diego, California. She moved to Western Massachusetts in 2013 and felt right at home. Sam lives in Northampton with her husband and daughter and enjoys exploring the outdoors, cooking new recipes, and spending time with family.
