Brian Rosman has had a long career promoting progressive public policy in Massachusetts.

Before joining Senator Comerford’s staff, Brian was the Policy and Government Relations Director of Health Care For All (HCFA), the leading Massachusetts non-profit organization advocating for health justice by promoting health equity, affordable coverage and quality care for everyone in Massachusetts. At HCFA for 15 years, he managed legislative strategy, drafted bills and testified frequently before the legislature and state agencies. He played a major advocacy role in passing the state’s 2006 health reform law that became the basis for the Affordable Care Act, as well as key delivery system reform, MassHealth coverage expansion, oral health, children’s health and public health initiatives.

While at HCFA, Brian also taught health policy to Masters students at Brandeis University and nursing students at Regis College. Before joining HCFA, Brian was a policy researcher on federal health care issues at Brandeis University.

He was a senior staffer in the Massachusetts State House from 1989-1993 and 1995-1998, serving the Senate Ways and Means and Health Care committees, where he led efforts to expand Medicaid to low-income children, the model for the federal CHIP law. He got his start in policy work as Policy Director for California Congressman Tom Lantos, where he helped pass an expansion of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area and start the Congressional Human Rights Caucus.

Brian has a law degree from the University of Pennsylvania and was an undergraduate at Stanford. He grew up in Tucson, Arizona, is a huge Bruce Springsteen fan, and is excited to be a grandfather.
